Lloris happy with Spurs stay

Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Hugo Lloris has admitted that he is happy at White Hart Lane after being linked with a big money move to Manchester United during the summer,.

The France international was earmarked as a potential replacement for David De Gea, who was expected to secure a move to Real Madrid though both players remained at their respective clubs.

Lloris, who has declared that he is now focused at Tottenham, moved to the North London outfit from Lyon in the summer of 2012, and has since racked up one hundred and twenty-five appearances for the club in all competitions.

Internationally, he has been capped sixty-seven time for France and was part of their squad for both the 2010 World Cup in South Africa and last summer’s tournament in Brazil.

Allegri unsure on Kaka swoop

AC Milan manager Massimiliano Allegri is unsure of the likelihood of pulling off a sensational swoop for Kaka.

The Brazil international spent six years with the 18-time Serie A winners before joining Real Madrid in 2009, where he has enjoyed mixed success.

It is difficult to speculate on the percentage for Kaka, but as a coach I look at this issue with great interest, Allegri told Rai Sport.

The 45-year-old also spoke about bringing lifelong Milan fan Mario Balotelli to the club, as well as the possibility of making other signings.

Balotelli is a Manchester City player, and I have not spoken with Roberto Mancini about him, and I think he still has continuing and important qualities, said the former Cagliari coach.

I do not think there is the n…

Salah used to have problems in front of goal, says former Basel team-mate Sommer

Mohamed Salah used to have some problems in front of goal during his early career at Basel, according to former team-mate Yann Sommer.

The Liverpool forward produced another stellar performance in Tuesday s 5-2 win over Roma in the Champions League semi-final, first leg, scoring twice and setting up a further two goals.

Salah has now scored 43 goals and registered 13 assists in a spectacular first season at Anfield, during which he has won the PFA Player of the Year and established himself as a candidate for the 2018 Ballon d Or.

His prolific form was not a hallmark of his early years in European football, though, with the Egypt star scoring only nine times in 47 Super League appearances for Basel before leaving for Chelsea in 2014.

And Sommer, who left …

Five substitutions could become permanent after rule change recommendation

FAI to decide on Trapattoni future

The Football Association of Ireland will review Giovanni Trapattoni s position after their FIFA 2014 World Cup disappointment.

Ireland now sit six points behind second-place Sweden in Group C with two games to go, have an inferior goal difference to their rivals and face a trip to leaders Germany next month.

Republic of Ireland 3-1 Kazakhstan: Boys in Green close campaign with a win

Republic of Ireland ended their dismal 2014 World Cup qualification campaign with a straightforward 3-1 victory over Kazakhstan at a lifeless Aviva Stadium on Tuesday evening.

Noel King s side were forced to come from behind after Dmitri Shomko had given the visitors an unexpected lead but two goals in the space of eight first-half minutes from captain Robbie Keane and John O Shea completed the comeback before Shomko scored at the wrong end in the closing stages.

While the three qualification points are insignificant, victory could yet see the Boys in Green included among the second group of seeds for the Euro 2016 qualifying campaign as they attempt to bounce back from their failure to make next summer s World Cup finals in Brazil.

Keane, the Republic’s reco…
